Development Communications and Database Manager

We are searching for a full-time Development Communications and Database Manager to work in Hopewell's Development Department in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree; 3-5 years of supervisory level fundraising experience with a record of success; experience working directly with boards and volunteers; familiarity with the philanthropic landscape of Northeast Ohio a plus.

Other skills or certifications:

  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Adobe, Canva, MailChimp
  • Social Media Guru
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Must pass a two-step TB test, drug test, physical and background check

Principal Responsibilities

Database:

  • Prepare and maintain a suite of Raiser's Edge reports and queries used for reconciliation, attainment and acknowledgement, as well as mass mailing lists for events, newsletters, and other communications.
  • Responsible for updating and cleaning the database, evaluating data entry and output processes, troubleshooting.
  • Participate in continuing education as needed, and train staff on basic RE functions.

Fundraising:

  • Work with Director of Development and Development Committee to create fundraising strategies and help set goals for annual giving and special events
  • Help to develop and implement a yearly donor fundraising, communications, and stewardship plan
  • Create grant proposals and grant reports, as needed

Special Events:

  • Responsible for overall strategy and implementation of Summer Solstice and Exploring Mental Health Series events
  • Primary liaison for Summer Solstice volunteer committee
  • Proactively plan and manage all activities associated with the Summer Solstice including volunteer recruitment, vendor selection, contracts, performance, corporate sponsorship, guest services, event set up, donor and guest recognition and stewardship
  • Plan and implement Exploring Mental Health Series event including vendor selection, contracts, performance, guest services, speaker itinerary, event set up, guest stewardship

Communications and Marketing:

  • Assist with the execution of Hopewell’s quarterly newsletter. Lead the production of annual report.
  • Maintain social media posts, web site and communications
  • Work with staff, board members, partners, and community members to coordinate communications campaigns and social media strategies
  • Creates content specific to the communication platform that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on our sites, and encourages audience participation
  • Participate in bi-monthly Outreach Marketing Meetings

Administrative:

  • Assist Development Assistant with best practices and current templates for all development communications including acknowledgements, e-blasts, special events and mass mailings

Pay:

$45,000 - $62,000 salary range based on experience.
